mutter paneer (peas&cottage cheese)

Mutter Paneer Masala

Ingredients:

  • 250 gms paneer( cubed)
  • 250 gms shelled peas
  • 2large onions
  • 3 medium tomatoes
  • 2tbsps ginger&garlic paste
  • 1 tsps garam masala
  • 1/4 tsps turmeric powder
  • 2 green chillies chopped
  • 5 tbsps of oil
  • 2 cups of water
  • salt to taste
  • 1 tbsps cream
  • coriander leaves chopped finely

prepration:

  • grind onions into fine paste& keep aside.

  • next grind tomatoes into fine paste & keep aside.

  • heat 2 tbsps of oil in a pan and gently fry the paneer cubes till golden and keep aside .

  • in the same pan heat 3tbspsof oil and add the onion paste. fry till light brown.

  • add tomato paste, ginger garlic paste.green chillies, red chilli powder, turmeric and garam masala and fry, stirring continuously till oil begins to separate from the masala.

  • add peas to the masala and fry for 2 minutes.

  • add the paneer, water and salt,reduce flame to a simmer, stirring occassionally till gravy is thick.

  • serve hot, garnish with cream and coriander leaves.
